Why do I exist? Is there a God? Do I have any real value? Why does life at times seem so unfair? Why do bad things happen to me? Why at times do I feel so alone? Why don't I do the things I know I should? As members of the human race we wrestle with life's questions. But do we ever think about what that little word, life, means or what we expect or even demand it mean? Maybe we have invented an unrealistic expectation of what we expect that word to mean. When the stark dark cold realities of human animate existence run head long into our pseudo definition of life we are often devastated, angry and discouraged.
God tells us in his Holy Word the Bible that life is not a state or condition of being as much as it is a person. That person has a name. His name is Jesus. He came for the express purpose of giving us life by his death on the cross and the forgiveness of sin, a life that is everlasting abundant and free. Jesus is life! He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6, N.I.V.). The Apostle Paul writing to Christians in Colosse said, "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory" (Colossians 3:2-4, N.I.V.).
Is Jesus your life? The answers to all of life's questions are found in him. It's not what you know about life that is important but who you know. Do you know Jesus? We can help you find the answers to life's questions in him.
