The Evangelical Covenant Church of America...
...came out of the Swedish Church in the late 1800's.  The Swedish settlers coming to America and to this area, brought with them their strong Christian faith.  The denomination, headquartered in Chicago, has over 600 churches and is one of the fastest growing denominations in the United States. Our church is part of the Southeastern Conference, which has enjoyed tremendous growth in the past decade.

The Denominational Church offers support, guidance and resources, but each local congregation makes it's our policies, sets it's own budget, calls it's own pastors, and chooses it's own ministries. 

Covenanters Care! 
This is evidenced by community benevolent funds, mission outreach, fellowship and the ministries offered by the denomination and local congregations. The Covenant Missions have even grown into an international church that is many times larger than the Covenant Church in America.

The Silverhill Covenant Church was the first church in the Southeastern Conference and we celebrated our 100th Anniversary in the year 2002!
